Beacon Street Brownstone
Client: Nicole Hogarty Designs, Boston MA
Our Role: Bespoke furniture design, fabrication, and installation
Scope: Entry console, living-space open storage unit and side table
The Brief - A Statement Piece
A historic Beacon Street foyer needed a sculptural console that converses with large‑format art and the home’s subtle nautical cues, adding to the quiet luxury that carries throughout the home.
The Next Brief - Living Space Storage
The third‑floor living space needed a storage piece that delivered function without overpowering the room’s refined, quiet aesthetic. In addition, the client wanted a fresh interpretation of a barrel‑shaped side table—something understated, sophisticated and materially expressive.
Final Brief - A small table with refined details and sophisticated materiality
We wanted to push the typical barrel-table to a heightened level. We explored how three legs could define the form, experimenting with profiles and how each leg met the top surface with a small step out to differentiate the figure. A radial veneer pattern was developed for the top, waterfalling down each leg. A subtle vertical crease in the leg profile added refinement and shadow play with the changing natural light in this location.
