We were fortunate to partner with Nursery Works, the design-forward branch of Million Dollar Baby very early on in the development of this stunning baby crib.
We moved through multiple cycles of prototyping, testing, and engineering, along with several bench‑made, limited‑production runs. Design for manufacturability and assembly was essential, yet we never compromised this crib’s fluid form or its one‑of‑a‑kind details.

Design Brief
We refined an early form‑study mock‑up into a meticulously engineered crib that meets the highest CPSC standards. Its sculptural silhouette—central to the design’s impact—remains fully preserved. With a seamless transition into a compact bassinet, every safety, performance, and aesthetic detail is executed with precision across both configurations.

Evaluating the joinery and structural detailing required for all 50 uniquely shaped crib slats.
Prototyping for Manufacture
Red‑leaf maple was selected for its exceptional strength and stability, enabling the sculpted slat profiles and varied rail curves to form durable, independent sections that transition seamlessly between crib and bassinet. Choosing this hardwood also opened the door to a pure, natural finish—an elegant counterpart to the white version.
The development process ultimately called for a studio‑built approach, leading us to craft the initial and subsequent limited‑edition runs entirely in‑house. This allowed every detail to be shaped by hand, ensuring the level of care, precision, and material integrity the design deserved.
